Stepping in to guide the illustrious journey of The Gathering for Justice (TG4J), helmed by the legendary Harry Belafonte, our role was pivotal in steering this organization into a political powerhouse and organizing juggernaut. We played a crucial part in bridging generations, merging the zeal of the young with the wisdom of the old, and establishing TG4J as a foundational pillar for the historical analysis of global movements. Our expertise extended to training the staff, grounding them in Kingian nonviolence and traditional organizing methods, ensuring their approach was both impactful and rooted in a rich legacy of activism. Additionally, we contributed significantly to board development and strategized innovative fundraising initiatives, enhancing the organization’s capacity to champion social justice causes and amplify its transformative impact.
